At the heart of Toronto’s gay village is the friendly and welcoming Steamworks Baths, a gay bathhouse that is genuinely a pleasant surprise for Toronto visitors and locals alike.
Steamworks Baths are not the typical European considerate of Sauna, yet they do not resemble those in continental US ones. Here, you would still be offered a room or a locker, and most of the sqft is dedicated to rooms and rooms and, adv, these rooms again.
Albeit, the action in this place on a Sunday eve was impressive. An array of types and figures in the darkness with blue highlights in the beautiful “Deck.”
The place boasts a massive area referred to in signs as The Deck, with two boiling jacuzzis. They deserve a true appreciation for having the jacuzzi clean and in awesome water temperature which I would assume was around the 40 degrees Celsius. So hot and flawless 🔥. Within the deck there are showers and a steam room too with two entrances/exits. The front showers area of deck is enclosed with transparent glass, which gives the place a one-of-a-kind feel.
Also in the deck are two saunas. The wet one has enough space for entertainment games, and the withhold one is small but with perfect temperature.

Sauna culture is becoming more popular in Toronto. Which is fantastic news for those of us who like the health benefits of sweat bathing! The city isn’t quite at the gesture yet where public saunas are widely available and affordable. But if you’re looking for the leading saunas in Toronto you can still find them in spas, hotels, the suburbs, and occasional pop-ups.
Which is why I’m going to assemble here all the places I can find to have a sauna in Toronto. (To be clear, I’m not talking about the saunas and spas frequented mostly by gay men.) Oh, and if you’re not from here, you should know that sauna tradition here is not naked. Unless otherwise noted, swimsuits are required.

Spa Excess is another great gay sauna in Toronto which caters the gay community and is located downtown, not too far from the same-sex attracted village. I have to start by saying I really almost hate same-sex attracted saunas and bathhouses where there are multiple floors and steep stairs. Spa Excess indeed has many many stairs. 3.5 floors to be exact and not including the attractive deck, if you dare sitting there towel only in the limbs numbing climate. A special distinctive of this clean and safe bathhouse is the fact that it has 0 style. I was always riddled about how on earth could anyone think carpets go adequately with wet play halls. The carpet in this sauna’s bar must own been installed in the 90s and it seems that keeping and maintaining the old is a common practice in this city. Having all that said. This place has a super clean pale colored jacuzzi which is always a plus. Fluid temperature was wonderful too. Yet not as boiling as in the neighbouring Steameworks Baths. The jets are so freaking mighty that you can easily massag Sometimes you just need to get laid, you know? Or sometimes, you just want a giant steam room outside of your gym locker room filled with naked people, who also want to be around naked people. Lucky for you Toronto still has a few boiling and steamy options to help facilitate said rocks getting off. Though the hay day of bathhouses in Toronto has reach and gone (thanks a lot, internet!) and selection isn't huge, there are still a few entertaining options out there, and that's something to be thankful for, right? Most spots are for men (trans inclusive), but we also have Oasis. Obtain out there and back these spots if you can, once they're gone, Toronto will ensure they're gone for good. Here are the best (and only) gay and gender non-conforming bathhouses in Toronto. Definitely the city's largest and most popular bathhouse, Steamworks is a men and trans men only spot at 540 Church Street complete with dripping and dry sauna's, a massive hot tub, a smaller hot tub if the big one intimidates you, two shower rooms - both of which are completely transparent, so get ready to place on a show. There are a couple black rooms, maze situations, glory holes .
