INTRODUCTION

This bibliography lists cataloged holdings of gay and woman loving woman materials (books, serials, documents, microfilms, sound- and videorecordings, and cataloged websites) present in the University of Washington Libraries system including the Law Library.

Gay and lesbian refers to explicit content, not authorship, readership, or supposed content, and embraces attracted to both genders, transgender, transvestite, sexual orientation, passionate same-sex friendship, lgbtq+ sexual behavior, homosexual, gay, and sexual minority subject matter. It does not include important related fields such as gender studies or minority studies except when those directly and explicitly address gay and lesbian subjects. Pacific Cultures
The immense territory of the Pacific islands is customarily divided into three major regions: Melanesia, Microne­sia, and Polynesia. Culturally comparable to the Melanesians are the aborigines of Australia. In the present mention of our knowledge, which requires sensitivity to far-flung relationships, some parts of the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as as­pects of Korea, Japan, and Siberia, are also significant.
Age-Defined Patterns. Volumi­nous descriptions of homosexuality in Pacific cultures exist in several languages. To start arbitrarily from the south, Gilbert Herdt () noted explicit reference to ritualized homosexual practices of Aus­tralian aborigines, especially those of Kimberly and Central Desert. Intriguing, though suspect, are early Western Austra­lian reports that, until pledged young wives attained the marriage age, their brothers would be used as their surrogates. Later, more detailed reports of Nambutji and Aranda exogamous homosexuality are somewhat more reliable.
Although Géza Roheim (pp. 70, ) argued that the Australian numbers mirrored the Melanesian, Melanesian homosexual intercourse is prescribed, not just condoned. Moreover, the male cul

Núcleo de práticas jurídicas começa a funcionar

O Núcleo de Práticas Jurídicas, ligado ao Curso de Direito da Avantis, está atuando desde o início do mês de agosto. Os alunos da 7ª fase foram os primeiros a utilizar o espaço, que conta com uma estrutura ampla e adequada à proposta de trabalho, que visa atender, inclusive, a comunidade externa.

Diversos convênios com órgãos importantes ligados à Justiça já foram firmados com o NPJ. Entre eles estão o Tribunal de Justiça de Santa Catarina, o Ministério Público Federal, Tribunal Regional do Trabalho e as Subseções da Ordem dos Advogados perform Brasil de Balneário Camboriú e Camboriú. Além disso, o Núcleo também está firmando convênios com diversos escritórios de advocacia da região.

No NPJ os alunos poderão realizar estágios curriculares, que têm como finalidade, segundo a professora Samantha Stacciarini, “proporcionar ao aluno formação prática, com o desenvolvimento das habilidades necessárias à futura atuação profissional”.

A aula realizada para abrir o NPJ foi do Nível I do Estágio de Prática Jurídica do Curso de Direito. Estavam presentes na aula, além dos acadêmicos, a professora da disciplina de Direito Processual Civil, Luci
