How do I begin to describe the experience of crawling through the desert of my broken brain in search of lgbtq+ characters for this month&#;s streaming guide, I imagine I could begin by calling it difficult, while also educational! When there&#;s nothing big to center the guide around, I am forced to watch deeply into every unpartnered show in the entire universe in search of a bit lesbian personality and it turns out many of them contain been here all along! But often in ways that are kind of ambiguous, not important enough for us to comprehend about it until this month&#;s research&#; and in most cases, I can&#;t figure out if they&#;re gonna do anything else gay in the future. One can only pray.

That said, September is a month with some great stuff coming your way in general, even though that stuff is not centered on queer women, including stuff with lgbtq+ male characters and stuff starring queer female actors. Normally I wouldn&#;t even mention this stuff but&#; desperate times! There&#;s gonna be three (3) Ryan Murphy projects such as horror show Grotesquerie, starring out actors Neicy Nash-Betts and Micaela Diamond, which debuts September 25th on FX. Will anybody be lesbians? Hard to tell

You know what they declare — April flowers transport May television shows with lesbian, bisexual and gender non-conforming women and/or trans characters. But do they? Skillfully, in May of I would actually say, &#;yeah, actually, they kinda do.&#; There&#;s a lot to be stoked about this month, so let&#;s acquire into it!

Bet: Season One // May 15
Netflix&#;s live-action (and English-language) adaptation of the manga series Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler finds a new student Yumeko at a gambling-focused elite boarding school full of evil children, intent on carrying out a confidential mission. There&#;s a lot of homoeroticism in the series, as well as two main characters, RiRi and Mary, who are queer.

Big Mouth: Season 8 // May 23
In its final season, this queer-inclusive animated series will see its kids &#;step into the harrowing unknown of the future, made less afraid of what&#;s to come because they have each other.&#; Gender non-conforming actor Cynthia Erivo joins the voice cast playing the role of &#;Missy&#;s Vagina.&#; Ayo Edebiri plays Missy. SO that will be neat!

Prime Video&#;s May LGBTQ+ Movies and Television

(L to R): Detective Summer

Queer storytelling has gone through an incredible shift in the past decade. What started as the first inklings of representation through Will & Grace, and fleeting mentions in ‘80s classics like The Golden Girls, has now blossomed into queer stories infiltrating nearly every genre. However, a majority of those stories over the years have featured an abundance of queer pain, often through the use of rejection and homophobia as the core wounds inflicted on LGBTQ+ TV characters.

Only recently has TV stepped away from solely causing its queer characters pain, allowing representation to change into more than just coming out stories and tales of the closet. With so much queer inclusion to choose from now, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by choice, but if you’re in the market for heartwarming lgbtq+ stories, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re looking for wholesome high college romance or juicy college flings, there’s something for everyone in the burgeoning feel-good category of Diverse representation.

People Are Sharing Their Favorite LGBTQ+ TV Shows Of All Time And, Wow, I Have A Lot To Watch

"By Season 7, our main cast was made up of a bisexual woman and her lesbian wife, a lgbtq+ man who invented second travel to save his boyfriend, a fairly dramatic pansexual — arguably not cis — alien with a girlfriend, the only asexual on network television, and had just said goodbye to a attracted to both genders man who’d had meaningful relationships with men and women — who just left, didn’t die, just left. The rest of the characters were ostensibly straight, but all the actors said they were comfortable with the concept of their characters organism LGBTQ+ as well and supported and encouraged headcanons. The show started with one bisexual woman and a bunch of direct people.

On top of that, it was just so much FUN, and big-hearted. This was a goofy family who had the best time and got up to the silliest stuff. It’s so joyful and a great antidote to serious, heterosexual superhero stuff."
