Jeremy Eaton: Im so thrilled to acquire the opportunity to communicate about your project The Gay Museum, shown at the Museum of Western Australia. In recent years there has been a proliferation of exhibitions that speak to queer history, and The Gay Museum, which was shown nearly twenty years ago has become an important precedent for how people navigate queer history in institutional contexts. Your project was cited in QUEER: Stores from the NGV exhibition catalogue by Maura Riley and the publication Queering the Museum by Nikki Sullivan and Craig Middleton, where it was a central case study. It is remarkable to consider how strategies you were using twenty years ago are only now existence adopted by institutions and cited in academic contexts.

The Brilliant Gay-B-Cs of Sydney, Australia
Amy Blue, a gay artist from Petersham, has created some utterly stunning art pieces celebrating the queer history, and homosexual legends, of Sydney.
Nicknamed the ‘Gay-B-Cs’ of Sydney by the artist herself, this collection of illustrations has been created to embellish Oxford Street in Australia,
"I wanted this collection of illustrations to capture a snippet of some of the people and events that have illuminated Oxford Street throughout its brilliant and colourful history," Amy told
Who is on the Illustrations?
A huge amount of people and places from queer history are included in the illustrations.
Some of those depicted contain Doris Fish, a Sydney drag queen from the s, the Unicorn Hotel and Black Ada's gyrate school, which was a front for a homosexual dance club in the s and 30s.
What Else is There to See?
Plenty of gay slang and other illustrations are included - from ‘voguing’ to art of various fruits, the illustrations are shiny, colourful depictions of the history of LGBTQIA+ people in Sydney.

When David Allen, from Agnes Water in main Queensland, received a letter informing him he was part of the Queen's Birthday Honours List, he assumed it was a mistake.
