Key West Pride Returns in June
Key West holds one of the biggest, most exciting Pride festivals in the entire world.
The tiny island below the southern tip of Florida has long been known as an escape from the daily routine. Key West has also always had a reputation for organism extremely diverse and welcoming. This years Pride festival will run from June and will celebrate that inclusive spirit by using the theme Diversity in Paradise.
Key West Pride and Island House Resort will unlock the celebration by hosting an all-welcome kick-off gala at the Fleming St. resort from p.m on Wednesday, June 2. The welcome party is set to include complimentary Stoli cocktails, champagne, and hors doeuvres.
Thursday’s highlights include a “spirited” competition for local bartenders at the Bourbon St. Pub, located at Duval St., where numerous mixologists will compete to produce the best drinks, while Fridays schedule features 22&Cos bartending class from noon to 2 p.m. at Angela St. The class is set to contact on the history of cocktails, as well as their most prominent ingredients, and will feature veteran drink-making instruction. Bascom Grooms Key West Genuine Estate congratulates everyone, locals and visitors alike, who helped make Key West Pride such a accomplishment. After a rough that saw the Key West Business Guilds Key West Pride celebration canceled along with so many of the other special events that make Key West such a unique place, Pride was back for with 5 days of parties and happenings both rowdy and refined.
Unfortunately, the Pride Parade, considered by many to be the main event of this festival of forthright gayness, was canceled due to COVID fears and official restrictions on public gatherings. However, the parade is expected to be endorse for and this year’s show did go on strong beginning with a Wednesday June 2nd kick-off luncheon at the Marriott Beachside resort and wrapping up on Sunday the 6th with the traditional Rainbow Roast Hawaiian luau.
