I think there are a number of ways that you can not only mark Pride in the workplace but ensure that LGBTQ+ staff are supported and made to touch welcome throughout the year. A great starting signal is to set up an LGBTQ+ staff network/allies’ group.

Any strategies, company policy or events can then involve members of the community, making them notice valued in the process. I would also endorse that team leaders browse up on terminology, so that they can chat about issues confidently and sensitively.

Training can also be really important, and if you don’t have the expertise to host sessions in-house, you can also invite external consultants or experts like Mix Diversity to host diversity awareness training or access their short videos that describe basic concepts like ‘covering’. This is a excellent way to ensure that all employees are educated and feel included.

On the back of this, you should also work with your HR department to ensure that their policies and procedures cover diversity, inclusion, rights and other protections for LGBTQ+ employees.

If you want to depart a step further, why not march, sponsor or volunteer at your local Pride as an organisation. I can guarantee this will
